Mission

MSAPS is a professional society of Vietnamese physicians practising in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, dermatology, skin and beauty care, cosmetic tattooing and spa services, in accordance with Vietnamese law.

Established on a voluntary basis, the Society exists to unite its members and to protect their legitimate rights and interests.

The Society's guiding principle

Legal status

MSAPS operates under the legal personality of the Can Tho Medical Association, with its own seal and bank account. It is governed by Vietnamese law and by its Charter, approved by the General Assembly and ratified by the Can Tho Medical Association.

The Society operates in Can Tho City, across the Mekong Delta provinces and nationwide, under the direct supervision of the Can Tho Medical Association and relevant local authorities.

Powers

  • Representing members in domestic and international relations within the Society's remit
  • Protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members in accordance with the law
  • Participating in research programmes, projects and studies; providing consultation, peer review and expert assessment at the request of state agencies
  • Contributing to the drafting of legal instruments relevant to the Society's field
  • Organising training, professional development and other services in accordance with the law
  • Cooperating with relevant agencies and organisations to fulfil the Society's mandate
  • Joining corresponding international organisations and entering international cooperation agreements in accordance with the law

Duties

  • Uniting members and coordinating activities among them for the common good
  • Disseminating knowledge and training members; guiding compliance with the law and the Society's rules
  • Representing members before competent authorities on relevant policies
  • Mediating disputes and resolving complaints within the Society
  • Developing and issuing a code of professional ethics
  • Managing and using the Society's funds in accordance with the law
