On the afternoon of 3 October 2026 at Sheraton Can Tho, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and MSAPS held the Renuvion J-Plasma Introduction and Application Training Workshop, together with the launch of a seven-volume postgraduate textbook series.

On the afternoon of Saturday 3 October 2026, in Hall A on level 5 of the Sheraton Can Tho Hotel, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Mekong Delta Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (MSAPS) held the Renuvion J-Plasma Introduction and Application Training Workshop. More than 300 aesthetic plastic surgeons and doctors attended.

The programme was attended by Assoc. Prof. PhD MD Nguyen Minh Phuong, Rector of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Assoc. Prof. PhD MD Nguyen Van Lam, Vice Rector of the University and MSAPS President, chaired the programme.

Technology does not replace clinical reasoning

In his opening address, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Lam observed that liposuction and body contouring are among the most frequently performed aesthetic procedures today, and that their familiarity makes them easy to underestimate. Many complications begin not on the operating table but before it: a wrong indication, a poorly selected patient, a safety limit that is exceeded.

The more powerful the technology, the more it demands that its user understands its principles, its indications and its limits. A device does not replace clinical reasoning.
